Essential Trekking Information

What is the minimum age?

The minimum age for gorilla trekking in Uganda is 15 years. This is strictly enforced by the Uganda Wildlife Authority.

What happens if I don't see gorillas?

Sightings are 99% guaranteed. If you fail to see them due to movement of the family, UWA may offer a second trek or a partial refund per their policy.

What should I pack?

Long trousers, waterproof hiking boots, garden gloves (for stinging nettles), a rain poncho, and at least 2 liters of water.
